United in Prayer, Unlimited in Power As We Link to the Father

I liked the analogy I used to illustrate the meaning of sanctification (= the process of being changed by Jesus) in small Bible class. I liked it so much so I decided to share it here, instead of keeping it in myself and thinking that I did such a good job. hehe

There's a TV program called Extreme Makeover: Home edition
(Japanese version is: "大改造!劇的before after", these houses are much more horrendous than the ones in the US or Australia!)

The show, Extreme makeover starts by professionals (designer, carpenters, architect, etc) coming to your house by saying, "Congratulations, your house is chosen!".
Then the professionals quickly start to sweep all the mess, destroy things that are not right, get rid of everything unnecessary. Then they will start painting new colours on the walls, make a new garden out of nowhere, replace a beautiful kitchen and all furniture. Everything is new. There is no ressemblance of what it was used to be!

And that's the same way God works in our lives.

One day God comes into your life and says: "Congratulations, I chose you!".
He will take away all your sins and make you clean. He will make a beautiful garden with streams of water, and he will take away all the unnecessary things.

"Old has gone and the new has come", the Bible says (2Corinthians 5:17), and he will help you to be more like Jesus.

The only difference between extreme makeover and God's work is that in extreme makeover, you will be on a holiday, and the next thing you realise, you have a new everything.
God's way and desire, instead, is that we will do the renovation together with God, progressively, and thoughout our lives! :)

Hopefully this analogy will come in handy for somebody who come across this blog :)
Stay blessed,

Mami

Hi!Mami-chan!I came across! It's so nice to read your blog.I'm thinking that I also have to write something on my blog posts but now I can do nothing except reading someone's and sleeping coz my battery seems to run out and needs to be charged.
sunday night's long prayer session was the very moment of renovation for me.I felt that some old parts inside died away from me and new one came into me.strange aftertaste.but not bad.rather than feel so nice and relieved. It left me a fever and gone.
How's your activities in your study, gospel choir, bible class going?Having fun?
